Tongfully Sweet

When Alice Tong sings, you feel her soul.  Her voice wraps around you with some nostalgia and a trifle bit of melancoly, yet there is a hope that perks through in the high notes, that last shout of includedness.  The other night we discussed what soul music is, and we should have all agreed that it is, Alice Tong. But that was before I listened to her. I felt just at home as I do with Joni, Mirah, Goapele, or Priscilla.

Please Be Brave Before the Lions They Come is simple amazing, and it so worth it.
